A while back I found some old prison records from the civil war era. It listed items returned to inmates upon release. Among those were guns, knives, clubs etc. I'd like to see that. Like in the movie "High Plains Drifter" when they let the bad guys out of prison, they handed them their gun belts back as they left the gates.

Speaking of Eastwood films, remember "Unforgiven"? Little Bill made sure that everyone turned in their guns at town's edge.
