A specter of Jackie Robinson haunts the city of 53,000 people to this day, said Lamb. People want to forget it and it shouldn't be forgotten.
I have lived in Sanford for 25 years and this is the first time that I have heard of this. I am pretty sure that it has been forgotten.

My grandparents lived there for close to 40 years and I don’t remember hearing of any racial unrest.
