Exactly! AI at least gives us a little break from our daily fight against the Dems, media, moonbats, and general liberal insanity. I think the ratings will take a dive this year.

"and this album, to me, sounds a little like bands from the 80s and 90s with a contemporary edge."

Lyrically it sounds like the late 80's glam rock bands (Poison, Cinderella, White Lion, Winger, Ratt, et al) as that was pure entertainment. Nothing wrong with that as I loved those bands during that time. Daughtry's record was designed to sell in the pop market. It's Nickelback versus Audioslave.

Yes, but I also "hear" just a touch of Journey & Styx (techincally a 70s band) in the melodies, and I really miss those types of bands.

Although Haley and Sanjaya both can sing, neither belong anywhere near the other contestants. Now we have to be tortured with their vocals next week. And it should be Sabrina and Sundance still in the competition, not them. Ugh.

IMHO, the American Idol judges need to be the judges throughout the entire competion, at least up until the top 10. They also should restrict call in voting from America, and charge $.10/call or something, because America doesn't get it right and votes in the less talented singers, like Sanjaya and Haley. Not to mention, the call in voters who vote for the worst or by popularity, not by being the best singer. The votes should truly count and if you have to pay for the call, then I think more people would take it seriously.

Also, the American Idol producers and judges need to take note that the reason America gets it wrong, is also in due part because THEY allow less talented singers into the top 24 in the first place. I'm pretty sure that they had several really good singers in the auditions, much better than Sanjaya and Antonella, but for some stupid reason and desire for "drama" and "entertainment value", they chose to let through the less talented...it just doesn't make sense, when the entire time, the judges keep reiterating, "IT'S A SINGING COMPETITION". You'd never know by some of the contestants they put through to the top 24.

Ooo! Ooo! Hot off the presses, some gossip and some very sad news for Sundance and his family....

Sundance to Ryan: Arrogant Finalist Claiming Victory

The horribly bearded Sundance Head was booted from "American Idol" last night -- and today he admits there's one cocky SOB left in the bunch.

The rejected singer was on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS-FM morning show, where he said one of the guys remaining on the show -- whose name he wouldn't mention -- thinks he already has the competition in the bag.

Sundance also confessed he was shocked he was kicked off -- as the pseudo-vocal stylings of Sanjaya Malakar remained in the Top 12 -- saying, "I had not prepared myself for that ... I was a little angry ... at this point I'm just bitter this morning."

Head's elimination was only the first bad news he received yesterday, as OK! Magazine reveals he received word right after the taping that his cousin died in a fire that night. The cousin, Burl Head, had given Sundance $1500 for his stay in Los Angeles during the competition.

*My guess is Blake, because I hate him.

We need a nickname for Haley.

You mean Kathy Lee? ;)

I like it! She's very much like Kathy Lee or Debbie Boone.

Check out the post above, Sundance claims one of the remaining guys is an arrogant SOB. It could be his bitterness talking, but I'd like to think it's Blake. ;-)

For some reason, I think it's Chris Sligh. Don't get me wrong, I like him, and I think he's talented but behind that humor, I could totally see some arrogance. Especially, given his comments to Simon. He has experience with a band so he may have a bit of an attitude about being better than some of the others.

I like it too! In fact, hubby said that's who she reminded him of the other night.

So, are we going with that? It totally fits.

My guess is Blake.

No, it definitely has to be Chris R. He has some kind of connection to the music industry, although I don't remember what. But the impression I have is that he thinks he's got an advantage.

I record the shows every week and rewatch them a few times to check my early impressions against the contestants' progression. Every time Chris R. is on camera, his whole body language fairly shouts conceit.

He is very contemporary; very much a Justin Timberlake wannabe. As such, he may be highly marketable in today's thin ranks of male pop stars. But he is not very talented, in my opinion. On the other hand, talent is not really necessary to make it big these days.

You know, my dislike of Blake leads me to believe it's him. BUT after I posted that I thought it could be Chris Sligh, too. He does have bit of arrogance that he does not keep in check very well. They seem to be the most likely candidates.

Chris R makes my skin crawl. I absolutely cannot see what people like in him. He has bad skin, no lips, and does some weird seizure-like dance when he sings. Oh yeah, and he totally sucks at singing. Other then that he's great! ;-)
