Save America with the ‘Fair Tax Act’
The Courier ^ | August 31,2006 | Gordon Bishop

Posted on 09/03/2006 5:18:40 AM PDT by Man50D

Abolish the federal income tax!

No more taxes on savings and investments!

A "Fair Tax" can completely fund the federal government, Social Security and Medicare!

You control how much you spend!

So what are we waiting for?

You, the taxpayers of America burdened with an income tax that is costly, wasteful and sinking America into inevitable bankruptcy. All current forms of federal taxation would end! You would keep 100 percent of your paycheck. You control how you spend your paycheck. It's your money. You make the decisions as to how you want to spend your money.

The Fair Tax would create more jobs and give the USA a level playing field when selling overseas. United States Senator John Linder (R-Georgia) is sponsoring the "Fair Tax Act of 2005." If enacted by Congress, it would accomplish all of the above. Simple. Easy. And affordable.

It's the best way to downsize government without disrupting the economy.

To join the "Fair Tax" movement in America, just sign the "Economic Freedom & Fairness" Petition supporting forward-thinking solutions. Go to www.grassfire.net and liberate the working class of taxpayers. Grassfire is trying to give the working class the same kind of freedom America's founders gave to those who joined the American Revolution in 1776 with the "Declaration of Independence." We won the Revolutionary War, but have lost our country since the 16th Amendment (income tax) became "Law" in 1913.

Oh, I get it. He "can’t say whether they will earn more or less" but he can say "the end result of pricing will not require the Fed to accommodate and that the retail price level will be virtually the same as it is under the current tax system." The problem is they are mutually exclusive. You can't have consumer prices stay level without nominal wages being reduced and you can't have nominal wages staying level without consumer prices increases. This is the same old shell game they've been playing for years.

These guys just aren't straight shooters.

I thought it was particularly disengenuous that he stated that gross wages might actually go up.

Nope, not correct. There's not need at all to do that. In fact, HR25 prevents taxing a thing more than once. The 23% ti rate is imposed directly as the formula for it shows ... and as it states in the bill.

Nope, not correct.

Name one state that uses the "inclusive" ploy to misrepresent their sales tax rate.

As I said to you a few minuter ago on another thread - and which you read since you responded to it:

"Guess you didn't read my entire post - it's no LIE, BTW.

"As for an entire state converting over to inclusive use I don't know of any yet - but it shouldn't be too long once the FairTax becomes law. The point is, tax inclusive pricing is in use - and you're not aware of it. Tax exclusive is by no means universally used. " Some of the VAT countries actually use tax inclusive pricing also."

And I also said in those earlier posts that there are many businesses that presently use tax inclusive pricing since it is so much easier for them - Disneyworld, Six Flags ... and others as well. Or perhaps you'd like to pretend that they use tax inclusive pricing because it is MORE DIFFICULT???

Actually the effective FairTax rate - the rate people actually pay - for most taxpayers will be considerably less than even the 23% ti rate presently in the bill (which may be reduced by the time of passage of the bill anyway to 19% or so).

Even at the present 23% ti rate, the average (middle CBO quintile; married, 2 kids) taxpayer who has an effective income tax rate of 12.5% ($6488 in income tax paid) will have an effective FairTax rate of 7.82% ($3,128 in FairTax paid). So, you see, the actual tax rate paid (the effective rate) is much, much lower that those repeatedly put forth by opponents.

That goes to show you that you must listen to the "anti" crowd with much discernment as it is heavy with demagoguery.

If you view the link this poster gives, keep in mind that the remarks relate no o the FairTax as written but to a made up version of a consumption tax quite different from the FairTax.

Change what the bill says and then criticize that incorrect notion - a very old trick and one frequently seen on these threads. It's a strawman.

I guess the "big trip to the reeducation camp" didn't do much for you, did it?

The effective tax rate for the mid quintile guy married with 2 kids will be about 7.82% (tax paid $3,128) under the FairTax while it was 12.5% ($6,488) under the income tax ... can you tell us which is better for the taxpayer???

Since that's what you continually do with your Big BS vanity posts, there's no reason why I can't do that too ... except I won't throw in all the untruths.

Only you think it makes sense that the average guy sees his taxes go from $6488 to $3128 and thinks that your numbers can possibly add up.

seeing what you can't answer, you ignore, or deny, and everything else in your world is a lie, playing dumb seems to fit right in.

You're more than welcome to show us the actual numbers that you think don't add up, Drummer Boy, and what - according to you - they are.

Your continued ranting about "don't add up" don't mean nuthin' since they're just based on your Big BS claims. Show us the rates and amount paid under the income tax and the rate and amount paid under the FairTax ... and the backup data from which you obtained the "conclusion".

And don't bother to try that "wrong rate" nonsense since you have nothing at all to back that up other than the ringing in your own head. Whether you'll admit it or not, that's the way the numbers from valid sources work out. You merely don't wish to believe that ANYONE would benefit from the FairTax ... yet most taxpayers will.

At least you're not PLAYING dumb ... you really are serious about it.

So you still can't figure out what you're talking about it seems? It probably made little sense anyway.
