Good morning. Today's bit of amusement:

BILL Clinton came to the defense of his wife by pulling Richard Gere aside and giving him an earful at an A-list party. The soiree Wednesday night was thrown by Vogue editor Anna Wintour and Oscar de la Renta for Queen Noor's new book, "Leap of Faith" (Miramax) at Wintour's Greenwich Village townhouse.

Clinton was still smarting from Gere's remarks at an AmFar dinner on Feb. 5, where Sen. Hillary Clinton was one of the hosts. Gere complained that night about the federal government's lack of funding for AIDS research. Turning to Hillary, he said, "And there was no help from your husband, Senator, in his eight years in the White House."

Witnesses at Wintour's bash said Clinton ignored guests like model Trish Goff, Iman, Conrad Black and his wife, Barbara Amiel, and Isaac Mizrahi and took the actor into a corner "to set the record straight."

"There were no voices raised and they both seemed pleased at the end of the conversation," said one spy. "They shook hands and patted each other on the back." Page Six

----------
Sounds more like he was coming to the defense of his own miserable legacy, not to the Hildebeaste's defense.

Liz Smith reports:

(E)ver since the Oscars happened in L.A., there have been rumors having to do with Michael Moore's anti-war, anti-Bush speech. This won kudos from peaceniks and boos and hisses from many, many others. But the story going round is that none other than Gore Vidal himself wrote or masterminded the speech given by Moore, the winner of the Best Documentary "Bowling for Columbine."

Famous author Vidal has his own book out from Avalon and The Nation, titled "Dreaming War: Blood for Oil and the Cheney-Bush Junta." He tells me it is doing well and has sold 100,000 copies. But when it comes to the Michael Moore rumor, Gore has this to say: "I'm flattered. No, I didn't have anything to do with his speech although I did see him recently." When I inquired why and where they had met, Gore, who is living quietly in Los Angeles for the nonce, told me the following:

"Some of us, a group of like-minded souls, got together just to discuss informally who we might back to be president in the next election. We want a leader who won't lie to us. Mr. Bush is a 'come to Jesus' kind of fellow who believes he is doing God's work. And it explains why Tony Blair has gone along with him. He, too, is a crypto Roman Catholic and a secret Jesus lover. Together they are very dangerous." (Vidal loves the excessive statement!)

WAR OR no war, Rosie O'Donnell keeps bombarding President Bush. "It's very easy to send other people's children off to kill each other and to be killed than to send your own," she tells us. "When he sends his twins over in military fatigues and machine guns, you let me know"... NY Daily News

Oh come on, Rosie, you just have a thing for women in uniform.

GOOD MORNING EVERYBODY!

THIS IS A REQUEST FOR PRAYER FOR A POW AND A SINGLE MOM BEING HELD BY THE IRAQIS.

IT WAS SENT TRO ME BY A COWORKER. PLEASE KEEP RASHONDA JONHSON AND HER FAMILY IN YOUR PRAYERS

Subject: SISTERS TAKING ACTION FOR ANOTHER SISTER PRAYER IS NEEDED.

We have to stay in prayer for this sister and her family!!! This was forwarded to me and I was compelled to send it to you. If this is all I can do I do it willingly. Share this with everyone you know and get your churches to lift all our POW's in prayer. LADIES, This morning on the Tom Joyner Show, they discussed the young, black, single mom that is now a POW (name...RASHONDA JOHNSON).This is the first time in many years that a woman has been captured and held as POW.....Iraq is known for extreme measures when it comes to torture and especially rape chambers.............I am sure that the males WILL do all that they can, but I am also sure that they will separate her for that reason. THEY WILL BEAT, RAPE AND TORTURE HER FOR PUNISHMENT OR JUST GENERAL PURPOSES. It is reported that her mother is not taking this well (can you imagine?), she is not allowed to speak of what the US Government tells her, and she has Rashonda's two year old...... We may not be able to do anything for our Sister that has been held captive in Iraq, but we know that God has already dispatched a host of angels to aid and watch over her. The key is that through prayer, we empower those angels to fight the demonic forces that desire to take our Sister's life and dignity through rape and abuse. We come against the acts of Satan and his demons and we shall bind them. "No weapon formed against Rashonda will succeed...Angels will guard and protect her, and if some ugly demon should approach her, he will see mighty warrior Angels surrounding her, protecting her and giving her peace and comfort. This we will rejoice in, for it is done ...in the Name of Jesus. Thank God for all that He has already done and is doing for Rashonda. Give Him the Glory. P.S. Pass it on...Leviticus 26:7-8 - And ye shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword (God's word/prayer). And five of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight: and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword. There is power is numbers...

HLL, Those pictures are priceless! Thanks for the pictures.

I hate that fat tub or worhtless lard, Michael Moore. He has quite a little following to include my sister. She keeps writing me emails saying much of the stuff Moore recites. Her big complain is that President Bush did not serve in the military and did not go to Viet Nam because his daddy was rich and only the poor guys went. She just got done reading his latest piece of crap book.

As for Rosie and the Bush twins. I am waiting to see Chelsea in uniform. Besides someone should tell the other worhtless tub of fat lard Rosie, that this is an all volunteer Military and our men and women signed up to serve knowing 9-11 and posible war.

It sounds like the some of Hollywood left are waking up to at least some of the lies and bull the Clinton's told them. It looks like the quater the Clintons put in to sell their soul is runing out, LOL,LOL!

I will "PLEASE KEEP RASHONDA JONHSON AND HER FAMILY IN MY PRAYERS."

Hubby and I were stationed in Ft. Bliss, that's where we were married. He had the small Marine unit stationed there. When I heard about Rashonda and the others who got ambushed and they were from Ft. Bliss, my heart sunk. I saw her picture on the TV and I thought, "How many Rashonda's did I see everyday on and around Ft. Bliss. My prayers go out to her and her family and all the other poor families awaiting to hear on their POW kids. God Bless them.

I wanted to share this with you. The other night I had to stay up late to wait on Mini T to come home from work. I was watching David Letterman. He had some really funny things to say.

He said, "Hey how about that Elite Republican Gaurd? They're doing so badly maybe we ought to change their names to the Elite Demomcratic Gaurd."

OOOoooo, Bada Bing!

Is this a smear job by a Georgetown University (x42's alma mater) student against a Republican congressman, or did he really do anything wrong?

In his dark suit, knotted tie and official congressional ID pin on his lapel, Republican House member Mike Ferguson looked out of place at the Rhino Bar and Pumphouse, a Georgetown saloon popular with college kids.

"He shouldn't have even been at the bar," 21-year-old Georgetown University junior Michelle Mezoe told us. "He and his group" – two unidentified staffers, also wearing suits – "stuck out like sore thumbs." [Interesting perspective]

Yesterday Mezoe accused the congressman, a 32-year-old married father of three representing New Jersey's 7th District, of grabbing her in the wee hours Wednesday morning. She said Ferguson removed his ID pin and handed it to her, saying she could keep it if she would "come back and have a drink with me." Mezoe said she refused to return it unless Ferguson apologized for his "disrespectful" behavior. An apology was not forthcoming. rest of story at WashPost.

Very sad news this morning.

The Washington Post has confirmed that columnist Michael Kelly was killed yesterday in Iraq with the 3rd Infantry Division.

I'm crying here. He's the reporter who was fired from the New Republic by Gorbot Marty Peretz for his caustic columns about Clinton and Gore. He then became editor of The Atlantic Monthly, turning it around to become an award winning magazine again. He wrote a weekly column for the Wasington Post...truly conservative, always insightful and witty.

He volunteered as an embedded reporter because he wanted to return to war reporting like he'd done in the first gulf war. He felt there was a need for on the scene confirmation of enemy atrocities.

Rest in Peace, Michael Kelly. God be with his family and bring them peace.

I don't believe the tape being shown on TV of Saddam is current. Mention of "the brave farmer who brought down the helicopter" refers to an incident in dispute. The US doubts it occurred. This is an "old" tape.

Saddam is goo on the wall of that bunker. He's been scraped off. The cleaning lady has scrubbed him down. He's been Lysoled. They've sprayed the place with air freshener. He's gunk linking the garbage can.

Citing security concerns, the annual Easter Egg roll at the White House will be closed to the public this year and replaced with a smaller event for the children of troops involved in the U.S. -led war on Iraq.

About 12,000 parents and children of active duty and reserve troops will be invited to the event April 21, fewer than half the normal crowd of 40,000, White House press secretary Ari Fleischer said Friday.

"It's reduced as a result of the security situation," he said. "A smaller group is more appropriate."

During World War II, the Easter egg roll was moved away from the White House to the National Zoo.

"It was decided to do it to honor those who are serving, families who are sacrificing, the children who haven't seen their fathers - to bring some joy to their lives," Fleischer said.

Tickets to this year's event will be distributed exclusively to military families through the Defense Department.

Last year, President Bush and first lady Laura Bush welcomed thousands of children and their parents to the Eastern Egg roll on the South Lawn. It was the first time the general public had been invited inside the gates since just after the terrorist attacks in September 2001.
