Dear Sirs:
I am writting this letter to express my absolute outrage at the comments recently made by one of your artists. I have just learned that Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks stated 'Just so you know, we're ashamed the President of the United States is from Texas,' at the beginning of recent concert. While I certainly support their right to speak their opinion on any matter they wish, the fact that they used the opportunity of a captive audience, on foreign soil no less, to bash the President of the United States is nothing short of offensive to me.
I have been a fan of theirs for a number of years and it makes me very sad to say that I have lost all respect for them as well as the desire to ever see or listen to them again because of this. I currently have two of their CDs which I will be tossing in my fireplace tonight and I will not be spending any of my hard earned money on them in the future either. Unfortunately, it seems that I will not be able to get a refund on my four tickets for their 6/13 performance here in Buffalo, N.Y. now that my family will not attend. Instead I will leave those seats empty as my free speech message to remind them that with free speech comes responsibility and consequences.
Thank You,
XXXX XXXXXX
I know how you feel. I bought Sheryl Crow's latest CD C'Mon, C'Mon last summer. Her music is okay, I like less than 1/2 of the crap on the CD.
Just don't listen to the Dixie's for a very long time.
Sheryl Crow's song Soak Up The Sun; the first lyric or so is "...my friend the communist." Stupid me, I should have know right away not to buy it. Oh well, it goes to the end of the alphabetical order of 250 other CD's.
Better yet, I think I'll put it in the attic through summer and see if it fries in the hot, hot, hot heat of the attic. It might curl up like a shrink-a-dink.
