Prayer request for those called up to military service
Now, Father, please lead and guide each heart that represents us in Congress. Cause our representatives to work with our President, and not for their own selfish ends. Inspire us all to do good and not evil...that Your name will be praised by all nations. Lead us in just and righteous causes, and let us ever seek Your wisdom before acting. And then, Father, give us continued victory after victory as we work to do Your will for all people everywhere.
In Jesus name I ask these things...with profound gratitude for Your divine control and blessings that You shower on this nation. Amen!
Thank you all so very much, and may the Lord fill your day with love and light.
I have an update on my brother Stimpy:
Praise God, from whom all blessings flow!
Bad news first, because you know there's good news comin'!
Stimpy crashed on the operating table, and nearly crashed again after surgery when his blood oxygen percentage dropped to dangerous levels.
Here's the good news:
I spoke with him this morning. He was in good spirits, and has had a real breakfast including his first cup of coffee in days. He may be able to go home as early as Thursday afternoon, but will certainly be out by the weekend. He has declared himself to be a nonsmoker, and I expect it to stick. He was a pack-a-day smoker but has only had 12 cigarettes since his first surgery a week ago. Best of all, he is seriously rethinking his priorities, and he credits his recovery to God and the prayers of Christians. Please pray that this spiritual turnaround continues. Thank you all for your prayers thus far.
Blessed are You, O Lord our God, blessed is the name of the Lord.
Actually, all three of us have had near death experiences--not the "floating-over-my-body-Oh-gee-what's-that-bright-light" kind, but each of us has been within a hair's breadth of taking the dirt nap. I had my regulator fail during a scuba dive, Ren was in a car accident that should have punched his ticket and then some, and now Stimpy has gone from emergency surgery to walking around on his own in less than 24 hours. I was already a Christian when I had my dive accident, but it was a genuine religious experience--I had the peace of Christ come over me, and I was able to execute an emergency ascent. It certainly concentrates the mind...
If y'all could, please pray that the Holy Spirit will lift the veil from their eyes and they will see Christ. A change of priorities isn't the whole enchilada, but it's a good start.
Sometimes it takes the form of a nationwide election & victories ;o)
