Prayer request for those called up to military service

Good morning, billbears. Many thanks for your faithfulness with this prayer thread.

I have a prayer request today. My son, Bill, is going to have serious surgery for bad case of diverticulitis tomorrow morning and will be in hospital for a week. Antibiotics have failed to clear this up and now he's at the stage where his infected diverticulum has reach formed a connection, or fistula, between his large intestine and bladder. Doctor will probably have to do colon resection, pretty serious for my Bill, who is much younger than most who need this operation. I pray that God surrounds him with healing and wholeness and guides his surgeons.

I pray also that Bill will come to know the Lord. His father and I are believers,but he thinks he's too sophisticated and intelligent for that. Dear God, please open his mind and heart and bring him closer to your holy throne.

PRAISE REPORT on my father-in-law: He is doing very well in transitional care with his knee. He experienced none of the problems with severe pain or infection that he had with the other one last year. I'd like to thank everyone for their faithful prayers for him and the rest of us.
