Young people wanted Ukraine to join the EU long before the war, not to make the place better but so they could get their work cards and leave.

Zelensky's appetite for sending white Christian men to their deaths is certainly an incentive for the conscripted troops to surrender to Russia. What are they protecting anyway? It's like protecting Detroit, Chicago, Los Angeles, Newark, Baltimore, Memphis, etc.

I recall the Ukrainian military being driven out of a city into the bordering woods, and then claiming it was their intention to ‘surround the Russians’ from that position in the woods. It would be hilarious, if only it didn’t involve pointless blood shed.

That’s silly. France has a long and illustrious military record. In WW1, it outlasted Russia. In WW2, Germany took an area of Russia 2x the size of France, before supply problems caused a pause, giving an avalanche of Allied aid to Russia equal to 2x the current US military budget (as a % of US economic output) time to work its magic. If you transplanted the Russian population to France, and the French population to Russia, the Russians in France would have been overrun, and the French in Russia would have hung tough.

It is called technological progress, coupled with the ability to exploit hydrocarbon fuels.

The text on the original video indicates that Russia should fear them and 'Spring is coming...' when in fact they are being thrown into the grinder. Imagine that scenario with insufficiently trained conscripts, little ammo and without air support equal to that of Russia. Death.
