Bidet warned us who he was, half a century ago. For perspective during that time frame an obscure rock band known as Kiss released their Hotter Than Hell album. Hammering Hank Aaron broke Ruth's HR record and it was a time when the Jets actually knew how to play football. So long ago and far away.

1974 was the year my english teacher taught situational ethics, aka values clarification aka secular humanism instead of english with the “ lifeboat game “ to teach us to vote on who to murder and eat first and the “telephone game” that taught my class there is no such thing as absolute objective truth that turned most of my class mates into mindless amoral libtards and targets for future academic brainwashing commies.
so ya,, 1974 is how we got to 2024.
both sucketh.

1974 was the year that cars got really ugly, as the 5 mph front and rear bumper mandate went into effect.
I remember the early 70s because of the gas situation. My family bought a 1973 Mazda RX3 wagon with fake wood paneling on the outside and a 5 speed manual transmission. I guess it was supposed to be an economy car, but it got only 16 mpg on the highway, and it backfired all the time.
That car was replaced with a ‘77 Chevrolet Impala wagon, which was a nice car and it got 18 mpg on the highway, even with a choked out 350 V8 underhood.

What I remember about 1974 or thereabouts was our country suffered through a horrible flu outbreak. Everyone I knew go sick. I was bedridden for 3 days. LOTS of elder folks lost their lives to the flu. The government did not interfere at all like they did for covid.
