WESTWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Several protesters who were arrested early Thursday morning at UCLA are speaking out after being released from custody, sharing details of their experience.

Demonstrations - and arrests - have occurred in almost every corner of the nation. But in the last 24 hours, they've drawn the most attention at UCLA, where chaotic scenes played out as officers in riot gear surged against a crowd of demonstrators as they cleared their encampment.

More than 200 people were arrested, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

About 135 of them were processed in the parking lot of the Central Arraignment Court House, the sheriff's department said. LASD buses transported other people to the LAPD Metropolitan Detention Center. In total, there were 209 people arrested and booked.

"I also want to recognize the significance of the issues behind the demonstrators' advocacy," wrote Block in the statement. "The loss of life in Gaza has been truly devastating, and my administration has and will continue to connect with student and faculty leaders advocating for Palestinian rights to engage in discussions that are grounded in listening, learning and mutual respect. Similarly, we will continue to support our Jewish students and employees who are reeling from the trauma of the brutal Oct. 7 attacks and a painful spike in antisemitism worldwide."

Chancellor Block...I do understand that you have to look "neutral"...Not favoring one side or the other...But, you let Hamas people do whatever they want to do...Including the harassment of Jewish students...

I listened to Joel Pollak, from Breibart, on radio...He visited UCLA to see what was going on...He stated that UCLA administration basically let Hamas supporters do whatever they want to do...

Many college administrators are afraid of being seen as too "pro-Jewish"...

the propaganda media finally got their act together: they no longer mention the antisemitic signs and chants or the pro-hamas signs and chants, but instead now ALL of them label these “protests’ as pro-palestine ...

I don’t know, but I do know that the police filmed on TV the removal of masks, scarfs and other facial covers and showed the face of each protester arrested

Arrested but probably not charged with much if anything. They’ll get less than a slap on the wrist.

When the protestors are arrested, why can’t the college administration seek restraining orders against them so they can’t come back on campus?

They probably could, but they won’t. Truth of the matter is that the administration probably supports the pro-Hamas protestors, but they have to do just enough to make the public at large believe that they don’t support them.

C’mon, man....Is anyone actually surprised that Commie George Gascon, the LA DA, would not jail these useless criminal terrorist-supporting vermin?
