In fairness, they were a vocal group session musicians playing the instruments. Not like the Bengals or the Go-Gos.

Bananarama started out as the backing vocal group for Fun Boy Three.
And Terry Hall of Fun Boy Three cowrote Our Lips are Sealed with Jane Wiedlin, and both bands put out their versions. And the two knew each other because the Go-Go's opened for the Specials, when Fun Boy Three's members were part of the Specials. It comes full circle.
Not all girls, but I really love this band, I got into them a few years ago, wish I had seen them back in their heyday.
