I get it that California is a very large state and that there’s a lot of ballots to count.

But isn’t it reasonable to think that they should have been done by now?!

It has been over a week and they have only counted 85% of the ballots. Absurd.

If Garvey could defeat him it would be one of the sweetest victories on election night.

We’ve got this thing called provisional voting. People who aren’t on the voting roll at the precinct or who were already mailed an absentee ballot can walk in and vote. These votes are held aside and then handled separately to try to make sure the person has not voted twice.

It takes a long time and races aren’t officially called for weeks or months after election day.

Late absentee ballots receive the same treatment.

It’s frustrating for people in close races. It also facilitates corruption and ballot dumping which favors Democrats.

Keep in mind, Garvey’s race was funded by Schiff, who didn’t want to face a popular Democrat in the general election. (Our anti-democratic open promaries are another augject).

It remains to be seen if Garvey’s in it for real.

CA is still all “mail ballots” (millions & millions of them) that need the signatures on the return envelopes checked...takes time...CA SOS is reporting here:

https://electionresults.sos.ca.gov/returns/us-senate

This was the primary....Shifty-Schiff & Steve Garvey face off in November. Schiff will get most of the 1.6 million Barbara Lee and Katie Porter votes and stomp Garvey in November (very unfortunately...just the way it is in CA now despite Garvey winning most of CA’s counties:

“I do not like the smell of the slow count.”

The blue states are conditioning us to accept this endless delay as the norm.

Our courts dither while we burn.

We are not all mail ballots. Never have been.

However the majority do vote by mail.

I voted at my precinct per usual.
