That sort of crime enrages me. That poor, poor girl.
Sometimes an article will say “critical condition” and it is actually that the victim is being maintained on complete life support while the requisite hours/days of no brain activity are documented, so as to allow turning them off and harvesting organs. Sorry to add sadness.
