Agreed. I remember reading years ago that part of the Christian abolitionist movement here in America was that if it was wrong for whites to be slaves in North Africa, then it's wrong for blacks to be slaves in America.

IIRC the numbers, 350K to 500K blacks were brought as slaves to America. And 1 to 1.2 million whites (mostly from Europe but a few were Americans captured on ships) were taken to North Africa as slaves.

I read a book several years ago: “White Gold”.
Truly fascinating.
It was about Moslems in North Africa capturing and enslaving people.
BTW - they tended to enslave white people and Europeans, but they didn’t discriminate a lot. Well, on second thought, they did discriminate a considerable amount.

Don’t forget the incredible number of European slaves brought back to africa and the middle east by the muslim hords as they swept across Europe.
