Arizona teen is the 1st girl to win boys state wrestling title
Scripps News Phoenix ^ | Feb 21, 2024

In a triumphant display of grit and determination, 18-year-old Audrey Jimenez hit the mat over the weekend and made history by becoming the first girl to win the Arizona state wrestling title while competing against boys.

The Tucson teen earned a Division 1 title, but it took more than just hard work and athleticism to get there. She first had to win matches over boys this season before being crowned champion.

"The crowd was just super crazy," Jimenez told Scripps News Phoenix. "So that's what made it seem more of like 'Oh wow, like I just won state."

While the high school senior said she regularly faced boys during the regular season, when the state tournament rolled around, she had been required to compete against girls for the past three years — taking home the title each time. But this year, coaches asked the Arizona Interscholastic Association to reconsider its stance and allow Jimenez to compete in the boys division.

Her dad Billy and mom Denise said their daughter has always been the hardest-working person in the room. So when the AIA gave Jimenez the green light to change divisions, her victory seemed like destiny.

It's an athletic achievement helping to pave the way for girls behind her to dream fearlessly. And Jimenez is hoping her story can inspire others to always chase their dreams.

"Once you see it done you know it's possible," she added.

This story was originally published by Scripps News Phoenix.

There are videos on youtube showing these 2 points. On at least on of them it appeared the girl used this to her advantage by actively grabbing his appendage, and the boys were intimidated.

That would be sexual assault if the shoe was on the other foot, but everyone just allows girls to get away with it.

That includes you, men, who have plenty of time and money for sports, nudie bars, and hookers, but you don't have any money or time to defend boys including your own sons.

Several years back I coached a boys U14 ice hockey team. The girls U18 coach asked me if we could scrimmage. I told him we can play two games. One without checking as per girls hockey and one with checking. Coach went back to his teams parents and they agreed.

In the no check game, we lost 3-1. The girls were just better at teamwork, they were more mature and disciplined. In the second game with checking, they stopped keeping score after we were up 8-0 early in the second period.

Bottom line is, if you remove the restrictions and treat your opponent as just that, a girls team cannot beat a boys team, and that also goes for individual competition.

She won the statewide girls category 3 years in a row. Just won going up against boys this year.

A lot of dedication and hard work took her there. Disappointing to see a bunch of Freeper haters criticizing an individual who fought her way, literally, to the top.

Most haven’t been very close to wrestling and don’t understand some of the moves & touching involved. All they want to do is cheer ‘girl power’ without realizing the actual dynamics of what is going on.

As you say...how is a young man, with raging hormones, going to handle touching a girl in an area they may never have touched. The last thing they want is embarrassment. It’s easy for women to not understand this at all.

Pretty close to dangerous territory:

Deuteronomy 25:11-12
11 If two men are fighting and the wife of one of them comes to rescue her husband from his assailant, and she reaches out and seizes him by his private parts,
12 you shall cut off her hand. Show her no pity.

Hopefully there’s no such restriction for male on female violence...

I think that hits the nail on the head. I would think that there had to be very few 18 year old boys in that weight range. An 18 year old male that small would likely be viewed as having some kind of growth disorder.

She is a senior, and her opponent is a freshman.

Agree 100%, FRiend. We had two girls on our HS wrestling team so it was a near every practice event for me. The main driving emotion there is terror of losing for a boy. These boys are not thinking about not grabbing boobs or whatever. They’re trying to avoid the embarrassment of “losing to a girl” and definitely not “stimulated”.

If the boy is normal, he’ll find it uncomfortable and embarrassing to wrestle with an erection.

Good grief!
Would hate to have been the guy who lost to her in the finals.
And the slogan on her jacket: “With God all things are possible.”
Talk about misappropriation!
The arguments for “it is okay to be trans” keep being made by the insane and their victims and adherents.

True popes, as in those prior to the 60’s (and prior to those through to the present imposter), forbid that women even compete publicly in sports, let alone with men! How far from God’s will society has fallen!

I think its fine if a girl wants to do competitive wrestling - with girls, not with boys.

"106 lbs.

She looks stocky and muscular for 106 pounds."

Yes, but; those are "women's pounds"...

That’s what everyone does. Same as boxing

Yes, but the headline is nonetheless misleading / would be easily misunderstood by laymen.

She won the state championship for a particular weight class, and for a particular age category.

Girls have been wrestling boys for several decades now.

Hey, fellow FReepers! We've got someone with real-world experience here!

Hey, Mathews: What self-respecting boy would consent to wrestling a girl? What self-respecting father would allow his son to wrestle a girl?

I, for one, would NOT.

There is no indication from the story that she claims to be a man. Perhaps she just wasn't getting the competition she so desperately needed as the committed Tomboy. 🙂

As a male wrestling a female it may provide the male a block not realized when wrestling another male. I would have made the most of it though, by accident of course. 🤣

She should be ashamed, but the Leftists have no shame, including this girl.
