Provocative US right-wing commentator Tucker Carlson criticized the US government for its failure to advocate for a ceasefire in both Gaza and Ukraine, stating that the nation is “losing moral authority.”
Speaking at the World Government Summit in Dubai on Monday, the former Fox News political commentator emphasized the need for the US to refrain from supporting wars solely for its own interests, a strategy commonly referred to as proxy warfare.
“If you see a nation with awesome power, abetting war for its own sake, you have a leadership that has no moral authority, that is illegitimate,” Carlson said.
“(The US) has been a morally superior country. (But) if we allow our leaders to use our power to spread destruction for its own sake, that is shameful.”

When are people going to wake up and realize that Tucker Carlson is not a sensible person when it comes to foreign policy.
You see that he is claiming Israel is only making war, or we’re only supporting it, for war’s sake.

Trump is a 100% supporter of Benjamin Netanyahu and if you don’t know that you don’t know much about Donald J Trump.
That’s a good question. I believe Trump would press hard for a cease-fire - and then a negotiated settlement - in the Ukraine conflict. But I think he’d let Netanyahu do as he must in Gaza.
The difference is this. Folks on both sides of the Ukraine conflict are sane. But Hamas is insane. In that they are like the kamikazes of old Imperial Japan. You cannot reason with them, period.
Of course I’m just guessing what Trump would do. But I do trust him to work things out for the best should he return to the White House.
Trump is a supporter of Putin too and he has said he would end the war there day one.

Trump would not force them to do HIS bidding, I don’t believe. He engineered the Abraham Accords in support of, and the agreement with the Israelis, as a nation, not as a satellite of the US.
You didn’t read or watch the video. He said nothing about Israel and nothing about Gaza. The headline is a joke penned by an Arab news source.
Only thing he talked about is the US inserting itself into others conflicts for our own interests.

Yes, and yes again. However, it is long been Free Republic tradition to post comments without reading the article. That’s a bit foolish, but it ain’t gonna change.
That’s why it’s important for folks to step in, and gently clarify things when necessary. And I think the word “gently” is important there. Harsh rebukes get little traction. (Not referring to you there, dforest. Just making a general comment.)
If you read the article, he only said we shouldn’t be involved. Where did you see that he said “call for a ceasefire”? The headlines don’t match the story. Although I did not watch the interview. If you did, can you tell us one minute he said that?
