KEY POINTS:

*Climate anxiety in later life is on the rise, threatening well-being.

*Taking climate action can increase generativity and ego integrity and combat a sense of despair.

*Worries about climate change can lead to isolation, alienation, and helplessness.

The well-being of the individual is connected to the well-being of the planet. The emerging field of conservation psychology addresses how our social and psychological connections with the natural world influence our well-being. As an increasing number of people recognize the perils of climate change, anxiety about the environment is becoming widespread. Increasingly, people are worried about a future filled with loss, trauma, psychosocial decay, disintegrating communities, and displacement. Concerns about the social and ecological ravages of climate change are also resulting in a growing sense of helplessness, isolation, alienation, and even depression. What can be done to alleviate these ever-present climate-induced stressors?

Even if the climate change stuff was real, why should it cause anyone to go mental? I don’t care if it gets a couple of degrees warmer, that’s just less heating costs in the winter and longer summers to enjoy the beach. If the sea level rises 6” who cares also? We don’t build structures to last hundreds of years in the US anyway so nothing on Miami Beach is going to be there 100 years from now anyway, just build the replacements 10’ back. This stuff shouldn’t cause concern for any sane person, anyone needing a shrink because they’re worried over it was nuts already.

“ sleep like a baby every night in my air-conditioned home without one thought about BS climate change :)”

I’m the same way. The only thing that bothers me is that I’m currently restoring my 67 GTO and can’t take it out for a fast bout of criminal behavior on erf day.

Anyone with anxiety over climate change i.e., liberals , should take several doses of the latest climate mRNA Fentanyl shot from Pfizer.

From I understand, it ends all anxiety.

Flying to tour China it fixed for one of my Climate Cult friends. Temporarily anyway. She was a big Maoist during the day. She used to read to people at the Country Club from the Little Red Book.

“The WEF promises if you eat bugs the weather will be better.”
I have a new puppy who found some very large bugs in the yard. He played with them but had no interest in eating them. So dogs are now smarter than humans who read Psychology Today.

You know that puppy has to go:

By owning a pet, you are doing more damage to the environment than you might realise

Klaus would not be happy with your pet making decisions.
