Burger lovers wait 8 hours to try Idaho’s first In-N-Out

They were anything but in and out.

Burger lovers were so desperate to try Idaho’s first In-N-Out they waited up to eight hours in line — with some even camping out overnight.

The excitement for the California-based chain’s celebrated patties, fries, and shakes was so intense that hundreds were already waiting for the drive-thru when it opened in Meridian on Tuesday at 9 a.m., much earlier than typical hours, the Idaho Statesman reported.

The demand meant it was anything but fast food — with signs soon warning those joining the massive line to expect seven- to eight-hour waits, the outlet said.

Some customers even decorated their cars for the festive occasion.

In-n-Out burgers are good but in my travels a Culver’s butter burger tastes better.

A typical Idahoan dressed for winter out to snag a burger...

Another typical Idahoan who came down from somewhere near Bogus Basin and Shafer Butte to snag himself a burger, too. You've got to be wary if you move to Idaho.

>>Is it that good…

It is for the Kalifornees that have invaded other states, to reminisce and to carry on their mission to foul the states they migrated to.

There are plenty places in Texas to get real burger, In/Out is not one.

“very nice, courteous worker”

They hire the absolutely best, most friendly kids to work there. I’m always amazed at the quality of help they attract.

I’m surprised the insane California government and it’s DEI hordes haven’t come down on them for discrimination — “Where are your mean, rotten, snarling kids who spit on your food and curse you out if you ask for another ketchup”?

All In-and-Out has going is the same thing Whataburger did but doesn’t any more.

No Microwave Ovens and serve everything Hot and Fresh. Whataburger forgot about that and just does a re-heat. That’s all it takes.

It takes longer but is worth it.

In and Out is privately owned.

Whataburger is owned by some big international investment company.

Haven’t had a real good restaurant burger in a long time either=- don’t have a lot of fast food restaurants to choose from either- Haven’t tried a 5 guys burgers and fries burger yet- but might soon- no chance of trying an in-n-out burger though- Got real sick on Wendy’s burgers twice- McDonalds plain cheeseburgers are just ok- Arbies- meh- not real crazy about them-

We were living in Union City CA when a Krispy Kreme location opened there. It was insane, people waiting hours for a donut! The line was backed up onto the nearby freeway. Made national news. Went on like that for a couple of weeks as I recall. I think I went there once - that was enough.

I moved out of Southern California many years ago. I never missed In-and-Out but I do miss Tommy’s Burgers.

On the rare occasion I have to go to So-Cal I always grab one.

Good thing I don’t have access Tommy’s Burgers taste great but they are death on a stick.

Poor journalism and misleading advertising led to deception. Idhoans were fooled into thinking it was a bordello with the branding. Grounds for a lawsuit.

“I can make a better burger....Hands down.”

Okay, so every time I’m going for an In-N-Out I’ll head over to your place instead.

Whataburger was bought out a couple years ago by a Chicago company. They were family owned out of Corpus Christi and had a superb product. I think it’s changed hands a couple times.

A good simple burger is really hard to find. I have a place in Tulsa I’ve been going for over 20 years. It is real hole in the wall but perfect.
