Rolling Stone dances on Henry Kissinger's grave with brutal 'good riddance' headline: 'Finally, the war criminal is dead'

Rolling Stone led leftist celebrations of Henry Kissinger's death with a brutal headline that labeled him a 'war criminal' and declared 'good riddance' to the 100-year-old statesman.

The outlet published a skewering obituary by Spencer Ackerman last night in which they said Kissinger's legacy should only be his 'confirmed kills'.

'Henry Kissinger, War Criminal Beloved by America’s Ruling Class, Finally Dies,' read the headline.

Ackerman compared Kissinger to domestic terrorist Timothy McVeigh, the Oklahoma City bomber who killed 168 people, and said: 'The infamy of Nixon's foreign-policy architect sits, eternally, beside that of history's worst mass murderers.'

Leftists applauded Rolling Stone on Twitter and the magazine retweeted some of their praise.

Rolling Stone was not alone in its quick condemnation of Kissinger. Ben Rhodes, a senior adviser to Barack Obama, called him a 'hypocrite' in an op-ed for The New York Times, while Huff Po blasted him as 'America's most notorious war criminal.'

The White House is yet to release a statement from President Biden acknowledging Kissinger's death. Former President George W. Bush led tributes to him last night.

There was also vitriol on social media and even cheering on the streets of New York among protesters to the Israel-Hamas war who reacted with jubilation when an organizer announced Kissinger’s death last night.

Greg Swenson, chairman of Republicans Overseas UK, told the BBC it was ‘a bit much’ adding: ‘I’m not defending every one of his policy mistakes, but he was also a major statesman and did a lot of good for the world.

'Remember, this was the Cold War, there were difficult choices…there weren’t a lot of great outcomes possible.’

cant believe some of the non sense im reading here. What him and Nixon were handed in 1969, its a miracle the US came out of that as well as it did. 600,000 troops stuck in Vietnam...Soviets had 9 million troops from the inter-german border all the way back to moscow. China stunned the world by getting a nuclear weapon...a billion people with a nuclear weapon simply CANT be ignored. Kennedy was secretly bombing Laos and Cambodia years before Nixon did. Kennedy and especially Johnson scewed up the Vietnam war so badly....Kissinger and Nixon were brilliant men...and did a brilliant job.

HK was instrumental in convincing Bobby Fischer to play the Russian Boris Spassky in the World Chess Championship back in ‘72.

ummm..i think the fact that the Soviets were massing troops in Syria, ready to invade Israel, which had been caught off guard. Nixon took the lid off everything and called for Def Con 3....there was a little more involved than a late night phone call. Man, i dont know where you people get this stuff from....

Silly people.

All in a tizzy about we did in Cambodia,

with not a thought to what the NVA, the Chinese, or Russians did FIRST in Cambodia,

why we did what we did,

or what Pol Pot did to Cambodia.

"Blame America First..."

The words America's enemies love to hear.

Some of my fellow getting discounts at IHOP crowd may recall Lyndon Larouche doing his hour long presidential campaign commercials and going on an extended rant about Kissinger being a Soviet agent of influence. I have no idea either way, but Larouche sure was convinced and those commercials were entertaining.

huh??...the opening in 1972 was to expose the cracks in the Soviet/China relationship, and got China to lean on N Vietnam, which was “winning” the war and was in no mood to negotiate anything. The economic opening of the Chinese markets you can hang on Bill Clinton and the Republicans, which occoured 25 years later...do you people just post anything that comes into your heads???...geez

Worse than Klaus Schwabe and George Soros.

Kissinger mentored Schwabe.

Nixon had reduced the American force by more than half by the time of the Cambodia operation....thats what you have to do when you start pulling troops out, and the other side senses victory. They were bombing the HO CHI MINH TRAIL... they never bombed Cambodian cities. Prince Nordam Sianook was a communists sympathizer and after he was booted from power, met and joined forces with Pol Pot, urging his followers to join the Khmer Rouge. Love how people forget what ACTUALLY HAPPENED. Half the people think Nixon started the damn war....

I'd say that his most lasting accomplishment was as the architect of the China-appeasement and nurturing strategy that has been followed by Nixon and every subsequent US president - the outcome has been a Communist rival that threatens the US militarily and economically.

I have no love whatsoever for Kissinger. That said, I won't join the leftists in rejoicing over his death - the time to oppose a man's actions and policies is when he is enacting them, not decades later when he dies of old age. And in any event, today's Left is a far bigger threat to world democracy than Kissinger ever was.
