Amother and her family are being slammed on social media after video captures them wiping out an entire bowl filled with Halloween candy in front of a country musician’s Texas home.
Cody Tate, a musician from the well known country band Whiskey Myers, posted security footage to his Instagram showing the family ravaging a giant basket full of treats on Tuesday.
The video starts off by showing three adults, followed by four to five kids, running up to the house and clearing a huge black-colored basket loaded with candy one-by-one.
One woman in a black hoodie appears to even smile into the camera while stashing loads of candy into her coat pockets.
The other adults and small children followed suit, making sure all of the candy was taken from the bowl, even picking some up from the ground.
Then one male adult looks back at the basket to ensure all the candy was gone before taking off with the family.

In the previous neighborhood I lived in, I more often than not would put out a bucket of candy and a sign for kids to take a few pieces but not to be “greedy.”
Every single time, there was candy left in the bucket at the end of the night. One time I overheard a father admonishing his child “Don’t be greedy.”

Leaving the bowl out is no fun! I like to watch the look on the kids faces as I hand out my year’s leftover Chinese food condiment packets.
The psychology behind this interests me. Where I am, you can get 2 giant bags of the candy of your choice for $ 5. So why film yourself grabbing fistfuls of candy from someone’s front door. Surely, people know that many many homes have doorbell cameras and they are easy to identify. So why do this? Perhaps it’s nothing more than a sugar addiction…
I always hand out the candy. I get a big kick out of seeing the costumes and talking to the little kids.

They flock to my neighborhood! We gave out 3 of those Costco bags of candy 1 at a time. Took about an hour and 20 minutes and it was all gone. Nonstop. Every year they come in with their minivans and suburbans loaded with people.

as kids we hated that kind of “candy” ... i vowed that when i became an adult that i would hand out “the good stuff” ... we hand out Lindor Truffles at Halloween ...
