You only consume 1 loaf of bread a week for your entire family?
Many people consume a 1 lb loaf of bread a day per person. For a "standard" two adult, two child family, that would be 4x7x52, about 25 times as much wheat as you consume.

The kids are gone, so it’s just my wife and me. We have a fair amount of toast and sandwiches, but a one-pound loaf seems to last five to seven days.
Yes, I know lots of families, especially with young kids and teens, that go through a pound loaf every day. Or more.

Interesting. I consume no wheat at all due to gluten intolerance. I can't imagine consuming a 1 lb loaf of bread each day. I eat 1250 calories 5 days a week, 600 calories 2 days a week. Some days during the week I include a half cup of cooked white rice in the calorie count. It's currently 1:45 PM. I've been working since 8 AM on a 160 calorie Premier Protein chocolate shake and a cup of coffee.

Wait, what? You might want to recheck your math. A pound of bread is what, a dozen slices? You think the average person eats five sandwiches a day, after having two pieces of toast for breakfast?!
Round here it usually takes 1-3 weeks for two adults to get through a single loaf of bread. I know we don't each much bread, but there's no way we could eat even half a loaf a day, each, nonstop...
