The season is two weeks old and two teams in the top five of the preseason AP Top 25 already have a loss.

No. 5 LSU lost to No. 8 Florida State in Week 1 and preseason No. 4 Alabama lost 34-24 to preseason No. 11 Texas on Saturday night. Both games could prove pivotal when the College Football Playoff rankings are released at the end of the season.

With Week 3's non-conference slate looking pretty bleak before conference play really gets going in Week 4, we figured now was a good time to rank the best non-conference victories through the first two weeks of the 2023 season. Here are our 10 biggest non-conference wins so far.

The NCAA has everything to do with it, indirectly downstream that is. All the sportswear contracts, television money, butts in the seats and so forth directly benefits the NCAA. Follow the money, on the contrary they are just thrilled, you steer a boat from the rear.

What’s sad is, Georgia won’t win it this year, but FSU will.

...so how big a check did Ball State receive for allowing Fani’s Bulldogs to beat the crap out of them?

I was trying to watch the game on the world’s worst internet at Yellowstone and it crapped out at the half. I finally was able to pick up ESPN radio to hear the end. It was quite the disappointment.

I’m discovering that it has become popular. Several of my kids’ friends left Blacksburg to go to Boone. I retire in 20 days and the first week will be spent in Boone or Blowing Rock. A fitting end I guess.

This is where you're wrong. The NCAA does not run the Division 1A/FBS division in football where all of the realignments are happening. The realignment process is ENTIRELY because of the football TV money. The NCAA gets their money from literally everything else, e.g. basketball, olympic sports, softball, baseball, etc - but only get membership fees for football so the conferences can use NCAA sanctioned referees.

If you REALLY follow the money, it leads to the TV contracts and media outlets, not the NCAA. The NCAA is a relic.
