In the video posted online on Friday, the unidentified woman complains that they would not let her use the bathroom — before squatting down and relieving herself on the floor.

Some images are best not conjured up.
Use of the bathrooms, hydration - these are basic human necessities and if Spirit airlines can’t provide these BASIC needs, then they deserve every single lawsuit coming their way as well as a one way nonrefundable ticket to bankruptcy.

I pee outdoors all the time. Is this wrong?
that was the impression i got also..this was poor planning on the airlines part.
You should not have to wear a diaper when you take a plane trip.
On the Greyhound bus analogy....have you ridden any Greyhound recently?
The last trip I did was in July 2013...2-hour ‘adventure’ from Birmingham to N. Ala. The station in Birmingham is in the absolute worst part of town.
Bus was half-full when we departed, and I ended up near the rear of the bus. Bus was maybe 20 minutes out...when we pulled over to the side of the interstate (driver had called the Sheriff). We then had two deputies enter and tell some guy in toilet to accompany them (huffing crack in the toilet apparently).
After that...about five folks around me started to discuss their past year....all were in some regional prison and this was their first day of freedom.
If you think bus travel has any better situations....no, as badly as plane-travel has fallen (I ready agree upon)...bus-travel has gone just as far.
How Gauche!!
I think I figured out the problem.
Yeah... denying bathroom use is wrong and this is on the airlines. While disgusting, this woman was probably in agony with a full bladder
NEVER suck down a cup of coffee before boarding.
I get good and caffinated hours before my flight, then no fluids for two hours.
Have only used the bathroom on international flights.
She was unable to “go with the flow”.
She shoulda just identified as a black lesbian of Mexican heritage- the airline woulda cowered in fear, and apologized profusely
I just flew Spirit Airlines. 1:20 flight there and back. Small seats but otherwise felt like any other airline. On time and the bags transported without issue. I didn’t use the bathroom but nobody was prevented from doing so.

~~~
I don’t fly a lot but when I do I pre-plan my liquid consumption and usually fly in a semi-dehydrated condition, on purpose. I have never had to use an aircraft bathroom and it’s definitely not a goal of mine.
I didn’t watch the video but I agree with you. If you have a full bladder, you have to go. Your kidneys can can be harmed and it can be very painful. Why was she told she can’t use the bathroom?
Thankfully I pay attention to the news, and come here. If I was ignorant about Spirit, the cheap fares would be tempting.
Last time I took a Greyhound bus was back in 1998, when I was going to LAX to head to Japan (from Texas).
Was fine until we got to Phoenix, Arizona.
We were supposed to change busses there, but after waiting about 8 hours in the lobby, I went and asked where our bus was.
They forgot about us, and we HAD no bus!
So.. We ended up on the next bus to LAX with all of the assigned passengers.. STANDING ROOM only for those of us that has waited. I was the last one on, so I stood, from Phoenix to LAX at the front of the bus.
I was about to ask whether or not Spirit Airlines had a toilet.
Sounds not only unsafe but illegal.
Spirit is terrible, but I’ve never not seen a full Spirit flight.
Fly the pissy skies of Pee-Rat airline.
Sounds like English is her second language—this could be normal behavior in her native country. In Saudi Arabia it was common for robed Saudi men to squat down and defecate on the sidewalk then stand up and walk away without a care like it was San Francisco—hopefully none ever fly Spirit.
