A Texas man has been charged with battery and banned from flying with United after he was caught on video allegedly punching an airline worker aboard a plane.
Cody Lovins, 47, from Montgomery, was arrested at San Francisco International Airport’s Terminal 3 early Monday in connection with the “physical altercation” that took place on a United flight from San Francisco to Houston before takeoff, police said.
Viral footage recorded by eyewitness Naya Jimenez showed a man in a blue t-shirt, later identified as Lovins, repeatedly striking a crew member during a fight over a seat.

Honestly, what are these people thinking?
You can’t win against the airline.
Forget it, Jake. It’s airline town.
He will deserve the punishment. But the United flight attendants do sort of provoke that kind of response.
We occasionally have to fly United but only as a last resort.
Not a great first name, bad last name, he is rough looking 47, punches like a seven year old girl, and he wears Jorts.
My Hawaii drivers license say’s my last name is Mc’Lovin.

It’s not all that hard. Board the plane, take your seat, don’t talk to the person next to you, don’t try to open the cabin door, and don’t throw punches.
I agree but they are still surly, mean, and arrogant. The service is abysmal and often insulting. All US and most European Airlines have this problem. Not to mention the ever more cramped seating no meal and lost/damaged baggage.
We avoid United and Delta any time we can.
A flight attendant I knew also worked for United and a 1st class passenger refused to put her briefcase under her seat. She said she was an attorney and that the contents of her briefcase required her to have it on her lap. Despite being politely told she would have to store it under her seat or that the FA could store it in a closet for her. She insisted that she keep it on her lap. The FA then told her that it would either be stored, or she would have to deplane. She stood up and pushed the FA, who fell into the armrests behind her and then to the floor. The FA got up, said nothing, went to the cockpit and closed the door. About two minutes later, two airport police came in, identified the lady, put cuffs on her, and took her off the place. Turns out, assaulting a FA is a federal offense and the lady got 90 days in jail.
Moral: don’t mess around with a FA.
Cody is in deep trouble.
His name and picture are in the news, and that usually means he will lose his job, and he is going to do jail time.
The least of his worries is that he is banned from United, and every airline in the country.
Friggin United attendent moved up and down the aisle, bumping into my shoulder with every trip, all the way back from Hawaii. Even caught me with the cart a few times.

Been flying for 40 years, and have never had a problem with airline crew.
As you say… sit down, and make the best of it. It’s one of the few times I can find peace for @ 2- 4 hours. Rent a move, headphones, or sleep.

Flight Attendants are there primarily for safety purposes and to make sure FEDERAL regulations are adhered to. There needs to be a “no fly” list of people like this bozo who, when convicted of interfering with a flight crew, they can’t fly commercially again. Perhaps Greyhound is more his style.
