This country will never have a draft again. You can bank on that.

But it will be called something else and weak-minded young
people will be enticed to serve the Government, not just in military service.
I wouldn’t bank on No Draft. When push comes to shove it will happen as it has in Ukraine. I predict a resurgence of “Press Gangs” That will pull kids out of the Universities to go into the New Revolutionary Guards. The new Army with have “Thought Police” Units to make sure all are using the right pronoun. Only the “Right People” will advance in rank, the right skin color etc...
I disagree, if it gets bad enough.
The politicians want it so the voluntary military is dead.
National Service is what will happen, it is popular and even gets pushed here at FR, I think the left won’t rest until all Americans are almost entirely raised by the government, from toddler age through at least early adulthood.

You don't need a draft. What you do need is a focus on the mission, great leadership at the platoon/company/battalion level, and an about face on wokeness.
