The White House said Wednesday that the U.S. has "grave concerns" regarding the passage of the Anti-Homosexuality Act (AHA) in Uganda, and said U.S. economic support for the country could be at risk over the bill.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said the legislation would hamper tourism and economic investment.

"If the AHA is signed into law and enacted, it would impinge upon universal human rights, jeopardize progress in the fight against HIV/AIDS, deter tourism and [investment] in Uganda, and damage Uganda’s international reputation," she told reporters at the daily press briefing.

"No one should be attacked, imprisoned, or killed simply because of who they are, or who they love," Jean-Pierre added.

National Security Council spokesman John Kirby warned that if the law were enacted, Washington would "have to take a look" at imposing economic penalties on Uganda.

"We’re — we’re certainly watching this real closely. And we would have to take a look at whether or not there might be repercussions that we would have to take, perhaps in an economic way, should this law actually get passed — enacted," he said…

While the Ukraine War supporters may think this is a credible threat, they need to understand that Uganda has a population of nearly 50 million, a level close to that of France, Italy, and the UK.

So I suspect that Russia and China have already told them that if they jettison the US, they’ll have those funds restored and probably more, and no LGBT Flags are necessary.

Now Ugandan women will no longer get the benefits of sterility shots administered as cholera protection. The Christian organizations pride good medical help to Ugandans. Our government’s and the WHO’s help should not be trusted at all.

The republicans who control much of the money are all in with cooperating with the Democrats so they will, they think, have a seat at the table in the New Democrat Total Democrat Marxist State. Won’t happen. “Allies” are the first to go to the wall when the Communists have consolidated.

Our “needs” here should NOT be paid for by the government. Better is simply not to use the money a all. If they don’t use it it doesn’t even exist as it is “printed” as desired.

Unless the CIA/DoD are willing to overthrow the government of Uganda and install a puppet regime that champions GloboHomo, this is a surefire way to drive Uganda in to the arms of Russian, China and other countries that don't like the U.S.

I wonder what natural resources Uganda has ?

Uganda's reserves include copper, tungsten, cobalt, columbite-tantalite, gold, phosphate, iron ore, and limestone. Gold, cobalt, and columbite-tantalite are mined. --according to Google.

These EV battery chemistries depend on five critical minerals whose domestic supply is potentially at risk for disruption: lithium, cobalt, manganese, nickel, and graphite. --according to Google

Hmm. Who would have thunk that GloboHomo loves its EVs so much that Uganda has to be the next domino to fall ?

It appears the French have more of a spine than modern Americans.

So true.

Uganda has seen first hand how it's destroyed our Country. They have more sense than those idiots running ours (into the ground).

So if what you are is a pedo and you’ve ruined the lives of lots of kiddies, no penalty?

What a muppet.
