“My copy of Office is the 2003 Professional Edition. AFAIK, the last release before Microsloth permanently stained the work world with The Ribbon.”
That’s exactly why I hold on to my 2003 MS Office like grim death. HATE the ribbon! After 2003, many of the keystrokes don’t work. The times we’ve relocated, my discs of the program are with my jewelry in my carry-on luggage.
I don't think Bill Gates is the Anti-Christ, but I'm sure they are good friends.
“I don’t think Bill Gates is the Anti-Christ”
I guess you’re right. But he is AN anti-Christ for sure.
Try to mess with my genetic makeup and I’m pissed. Take away my WordPerfect ... that’s over the top. ;)
Ya got me laughing ... LOL!!
I believe it’s called gobbledegook. I get 365 for free from my employer. I think Office 2010 was a good product but everything started going downhill after Word Perfect 5.0.
“When my XP desktop died, I cried. I lost a scanner and laser printer, because they didn’t have Win7 drivers.
When my Win7 desktop died, I cried. I almost lost a scanner and color laser printer, because they didn’t have Win10 drivers. “
This is the hell we tolerate from the IT industry. I saw no.
I still kept using WinXP until i needed a hardware change — then Bill Gates locked me out with 3 days notice. Never any penny to Gates, et al.
Used Quattro Pro is the day (1994) for spread sheet. Now use LibreOffice Calc on Ubuntu.
I have been using Linux Mint on a laptop for general surfing, etc. The latest updates (linux kernals) have played havoc with internet/network connections. It seems many others, per forums, are having similar problems and are getting little relief from the ‘kernal makers’.
I ‘timelined’ back to the early installs of Mint 20.3 and the network connection is still wacky.
I am a novice regarding Linux and most of the forum replies require a degree in Linux to understand what might correct the connection problem.
My flirtation with Linux — I am not a happy camper with this current connection issue.
Being in my late 60s, I always believed ‘If it ain’t broke, don’t let anything update or upgrade.”
Too bad the ‘industry’ is just the opposite. We live in a 2023 world where nothing is safe anymore. Or they want us to believe that. I just can’t trust any third party to my security.
Horrible times we live in in internet regard.
