At 7.8 in the LA area, they would have to wait until tens of thousands of fires burned themselves out. Then the looting and cannibalism starts.
Attended a briefing from LA City Fire Department some years ago.
The PIO stated in clear terms that under the right conditions (specifically dry and windy), tens of thousands of people would find themselves running for their lives from out of control fires.
His recommendation: copy all your important documents to a thumb drive and wear it around your neck like dog tags, because that is all you be able to save.
(Of course that was before “cloud” storage.)
Wonder if that’s why they want to ban gas stoves.
Would the water system even survive it? That’s some dry country, without a water system.
