A California man has filed a lawsuit claiming that a winning Powerball ticket worth $2.04 billion had been stolen from him.
The plaintiff, Jose Rivera, argues that he bought the lucky lottery ticket from Joe’s Service Center in Altadena on Nov. 7 — the day before the historic drawing, as TMZ first reported, citing court filings,
According to Rivera, a man identified by him only as “Reggie” somehow swiped the Powerball ticket from him that same day. The complaint reportedly does not explain the circumstances of the alleged theft.
After the drawing, Rivera said he approached “Reggie,” seeking to get his ticket back, but the man allegedly claimed that the ticket did not match all six numbers — but even if it did, he would agree to only split the prize 50-50.

The Gimmie Thats are all over the place.
Slavery in the US ruined the country in ways far more detrimental than the reasons for the Civil War.
If that lottery ticket was before the drawing, its value is what it cost at that moment and not its value after the drawing.
Some sleazoid lawyer put him up to it? Hoping for a fat settlement?

Most places that sell lotto tickets also have surveillance cameras. So he could at least subpoena them and perhaps establish that he did buy a ticket at a certain place and time, and the state lottery commission knows exactly what place and time the winning tickets are sold.
Jose sounds too stupid to play the lottery.
Even if Reggie didn't swipe it, I suspect Jose will not have his money for very long, regardless
There was likely video recording of where the lotto tickets were sold. And once the precise location and time of sell of the winning ticket was determined (the lottery commission would have access to this “metadata” nearly instantly they would have asked the store for that video. And they would have retained it To this day,
the ticket has fingerprints on it.....

They sure do.
Sometimes they even know in advance who the winner will be.
If I recall correctly, there is a place on the back of the ticket for you to fill out your information. With that much money at stake, shouldn’t he have filled it out as soon as he got it?
Ugh....people, be responsible!
Suck it up, buttercup. Better luck next time.
Yeah sure.
