I advocate for President Trump because his policies benefited our country and decreased my tax burden, thereby benefiting me directly. What he grabbed or didn’t grab has no bearing on my voting habits. He is not my priest or minister. We can therefore assume that the Biden voters see some sort of benefit or payoff resulting from his policies.
For the libs I can still talk to most get an intangible reward from having the ‘right politics’. If one believes in the ‘right politics’ one knows they are in the secular congregation of the visible saints, on the ‘right side of history’ (a profoundly Marxist construction) fighting for a new Eden on earth. That is a huge psychological boost to people for whom in some way politics is religion. Marxists used to be this way, they knew they were helping the world to move faster to its ‘scientifically’ foreordained communist nirvana. So do these people, men may be cowards, spiteful petty weasels but believe right and you feel ten feet tall and bulletproof, woman may be neurotic near nympho maniacs and drunks or dopers but believe right and you are in the ranks of the saints.
