How Tyre Nichols was beaten to death in FIVE MINUTES: Sickening footage shows 29-year-old being pulled over, escaping then being punched, kicked and tazed - as one officer shouts: 'I'm going to baton the **** out of you'

Memphis cops on Friday night released footage showing the events leading up to the death of 29-year-old Tyre Nichols.

Horrific footage showed the moments he was stopped by police, him fleeing, then the vicious beating when they caught up and the lack of medical care.

Five officers involved in the January 7 incident have been charged with second-degree murder, and fired from the force.

CJ Davis, the well-respected Memphis police chief, said she had never witnessed anything so devastating in her policing career.

Meanwhile Benjamin Crump, an attorney representing the Nichols family, said Nichols was treated like 'a human piñata'.

The four clips - three from body cameras, one from a surveillance camera attached to a post - have shocked and angered America.

Here DailyMail.com breaks down the footage from start to finish - from the moment he was pulled over to him slumped next to a cop cruiser as EMTs watched on.

At 8:20pm on January 7, Nichols, who was born in Sacramento and moved to Memphis in February 2020, was driving home from a suburban park, where he had taken photos of the sunset.

He was driving along East Raines Road in south eastern Memphis when he encountered the police. One officer said he was 'cutting through traffic'.

'So we just try to get him to stop. He don't stop,' an officer told his colleagues, in the body camera footage. 'Hit the siren. Stop stop stop.

'Then he drove around, swerved like he gonna hit my car. 'So then I'm like - *******.

'He pull up to the red light. Stop at the red light. He put his turning signal on. 'So we jump out the car. '**** went from there.'

Wow. You give tyrants an excuse to brutally murder. Will you feel the same way if they come after you or yours?

I don't care what the situation your in is, be it bank robbery or jay-walking.

When you are confronted by Police who are in an excited frame of mind. Yes you can tell.

LAY THE HELL DOWN! On your stomach, arms streched forward beyond your head, palms down. Ignore all commands, say nothing. Go limp. If the officer wants your hands behind your back, let him put them there. If the officer wants you up in the sitting or standing position, let him put you there.

If the officer wants to beat you, you will not survive whether you resist or not. So make sure he does not survive either.

Make no mistake, these cops are thugs and they ARE NOT on your side. I don’t want to hear how hard it is to be a tax collector with guns or to prevent someone from maintaining a livelihood because a corrupt politician decided to close things down over a disease with a 99.7% survival rate.

During Covid and the Floyd riots, the police did nothing to earn our respect or loyalty.

They seem like a wolf pack to me. Which dogs can become. Take one good dog, put him with four more, for a while; leave them to their own devices; and you get a pack of savage, violent killers. All former dogs, until the pack mentality prevails.

Sucks that this guy died … and the cops shouldn’t have done that. But honestly, the beat down of Randall Worcester looked more sickening that this beating. But no outrage over that, I guess.

“Send the whole lot of them to prison and let it be sorted out there, since the death penalty is no longer an option.”

Oh, but it is an option.

18USC242:

Whoever, under color of any law, statute, ordinance, regulation, or custom, willfully subjects any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District to the deprivation of any rights, privileges, or immunities secured or protected by the Constitution or laws of the United States, or to different punishments, pains, or penalties, on account of such person being an alien, or by reason of his color, or race, than are prescribed for the punishment of citizens, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both; and if bodily injury results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include the use, attempted use, or threatened use of a dangerous weapon, explosives, or fire, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and if death results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill, shall be fined under this title, or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or both, or may be sentenced to death.

Doesn’t matter what color they are. The whole point of “thin blue line” culture is that there’s cops and there’s scumbags. Black cops, white cops, green cops, doesn’t matter. They’re BLUE cops, and they’re better than you, just ask them.

This is what people whining about BLM don’t. Plenty of unarmed white are getting murdered by cops too. We should ALL be demanding changes.

When I was a young child, my parents and grandparents told me that this is what happens to you if you resist arrest. There were no body cams or videos, and the police always would get their story in. I am not black.

Black officers locally tell their kids the same thing my family told me. You resist arrest and they will beat or kill you.

What the police did here on video, when they had subdued him, is basically murder. 50 years ago nothing would have happened to them except a cursory questioning because there were no cameras everywhere.

I believe what you are seeing is not new to our time, or a locality, only seen and recognized because of video and internet. Yes, it’s murder. Yes, it’s been happening a long time. Physically fighting police and resisting arrest is a dangerous game. If you value your life, do what they tell you, so your family doesn’t become millionaires without you.

Anybody have ideas of how to prevent these events in the future, because ‘defunding the police’ is stupid. Perhaps laws that protect police if they are physically assaulted, they cannot be liable for death and damage, or education so that people know that being under the influence and attacking police is essentially suicide? Can this be fixed?

Did you even watch the videos?

First encounter, the cops walk up to the victim, screaming at him. They immediately open his car door and rip him out of the vehicle, and start wailing on him. The victim hadn't resisted anything at that point, and only asked 'what did I do?' After yanking him out of the vehicle, one cop grabs one hand and pulls the victim one way, while another cop grabs the other arm and pulls him the other way as he's pinned to the ground.

A third cop lays on him and holds a taser to the victim's leg. All the while the cops are yelling, "Give us your hands," while pulling in the opposite directions and wailing on him. The victim is laying there and, saying "Ok, ok, I'm on the ground." It's kind of hard to put your hands behind you when you're being pulled in two different directions while being pinned by some fat ass holding a taser to your leg and all the while you're being punched and kicked.

As the cops keep beating the snot out of him, the victim starts crying for his mom.

Finally, the guy freaks out and he manages to wrestle free and take off - which I would too if three of these SOBs were just wailing on me for no reason. Why lay there and get beaten? He probably didn't even consciously think of that - just panicked.

Side note a lot of criminals bring the "what happens next" on themselves when they resist arrest. I'm in strong favor of stiff penalties for crime, believe in the death penalty and believe it should be applied more often, and for more crimes (rape, kid touching, etc). Many of the criminals deserve to get their ass kicked (for resisting etc). This did NOT appear the case from any of the cameras. Furthermore, nothing in the videos gave the cops the right or valid reason to beat someone to death on the side of the road.

They chase the guy down. Two cops begin spraying the guy and working him over. The third lard ass cop makes his way to the cruiser and is huffing and puffing, about to keel over. You can see the moment he loses his temper, whips out the ASP, runs over, winds up, and cracks the victim in the head with ASP. It did not appear that he 'missed' striking for an arm, leg, meaty portion of the body, but deliberately aimed for the head after yelling for the other officers to give him room to swing. Then the cop continues to beat on the guy with the ASP (an extendable weapon with a steel shaft and ball).

Side note: I am certified in nonlethal weapons, including the use of batons. Strikes above the neck, or to major organ areas are consider lethal use of force. At no point did the encounter require lethal strikes. The cop with the ASP hit the victim in the head, more than once, - essentially the same as if he had hit him with a piece of rebar.

Then, they cuff the guy and lean him against the cruiser, with a fractured skull. The victim slumps over to his right. One of the cops leans the guy upright and says, 'Come on bro I need you to sit up for me, can you sit up for me?'

After leaning the victim up, the victim immediately slumps over to his left like a cartoon. They did not render first aid, but just remark he must be high.

From start to finish the cops' response was unprofessional, overly aggressive and escalatory, which finally resulted in an unarmed guy getting his skull beat in with an ASP. There was no reason for any of this.

“This is what people whining about BLM don't.”

BLM is about the “white systemic boogeyman”/grifting off the weak minded emotional populous via the racial grievance industry, not police brutality in and of itself. These creatures/groups only use police brutality as a springboard to release violence themselves while aided by those who want to completely flip the hegemony of Western Civilization who reside in higher positions of business and public service that seek to control, not liberate the individual via economic means. No thanks, examples of white brutality usually get rectified through the courts (Criminal/Civil), via city council public hearings, and elections, not through riots. I will agree white people need to counter the hegemonic threat (BLM is part of) that is destroying reason and order.

Sounds like Memphis hired gang members to be cops.

I am not being sarcastic.

Officers showed no restraint, they acted like they had a purpose in inflicting violence upon the guy anyway, who what, was pulled over for “reckless” driving that could be a subjective observation. City Hall’s insurance rates blowing up is justified because the family of this man will be highly successful in the civil phase of this sad story.

Considering the population of Memphis, it’s not surprising that they have cops that act like a gang delivering a beatdown.

My prayers go out to the family. This was all so unnecessary and cruel. I am starting to wonder about the police and they way they are trained. It is a good question and maybe one everyone should be asking. What is the Scorpion squad anyway?
