Looks like the Buffalo Bills Damar Hamlin Safety just died on the field during the game. Giving him CPR...etc.
He's gone.
An ekg would catch it. I would have a hard time believing that these guys don’t have an echo each season. Reasonable question. I am sure we can both agree to offer prayers for him. I have a colleague who was officiating an arena game years ago. Same thing. Player died. The referee never stepped foot on the field again.
Prayers up. I have a bad feeling. Asked on coverage that he has passed. He probably is being cooled at the hospital. Deliberate hypothermia is neuroprotective. If reports are correct he had pulse after Defib. It comes down to quality of cpr are time to defibrillation.

The sensitive spot is to the left of the sternum between 2nd and 4th rib. He looked like he got hit simultaneously in multiple areas. So it could be a constellation of injury. CPR and AED administered immediately after event decreases fatality risk. My guess is that the emergency med personnel were aware of the possibility. IMHO.
I just hope and pray the guy makes it out alive. Sadly,there is a lot more bad stuff goin’ on in the world at the same time.

The game is officially suspended, and will not be played tonight.
The NFL will work with the teams to figure out if/when to resume play later this week.
No other word on Hamlin yet other than he went to UC Medical Center - only Level 1 Trauma Center in the area.
They said he had the heart of an 80-year old man.
No but unlike every other arm chair person here I understand critical care medicine.
And the thing is, this game was going to decide the top seed in the AFC. I think if this game didn’t matter they would have probably just cancelled it outright.

i went to my high schools games and couldnt believe the violence of the hits...imagine grown men that are built like superman...
I watched replays. They were able to revive him on the field. Hence they were able to resume play. This one may be far worse.

Hamlin is in critical condition. Game postponed to a future time/date TBD.
