Joel Chandler Harris grew up poor in Eatonton, Georgia where he heard the stories from the black folks and a
real life Uncle Remus figure. He just wrote down the stories he actually heard being told by blacks, stories based on authentic African "trickster" tales. We can be thankful Harris did so, otherwise the stories would have been lost.
What Iger is doing is condescending and racist. Iger is assuming that black people can't understand or handle their own history.
