Great movie, good character names, such as Judge Smales and Lacy Underall.
The gopher stole the show.

Ted Knight was such a great actor. He absolutely nailed the prototypical “golf club guy.”

There will never be another Rodney Dangerfield.
Adam Sandler’s movies came close (lowbrow & inconveniently funny), but his stage persona has always been very different than Dangerfield’s brand.

For those fans of the movie that haven't seen "The Making of Caddyshack", it lays it all out there.
As funny as the cast was, the behind the camera (including writing) talent was funnier.

That scene was classic, the priest has his best golf game ever, and god smites him for his vanity.
I grew up in a Catholic household, and my mother was adamant that her children would not attend Catholic school, we went to military school.
Still remember the story of my father talking about his friend Eddie, back talked to a nun, and she slapped him so hard, he broke his arm, on the blackboard.

Bill Murray’s work was almost all ad lib. Brilliant stuff!
Dangerfield’s pro shop scene ( Hey, Looks good on you though!) was also an ad lib scene.
Little known fact: Ted Knight detested Dangerfield and Murray’s “unprofessionalism’.

Highly overrated. Knight and Dangerfield were great, though.
