Drummer of the legendary punk band Dead Kennedys, D.H. Peligro, has died at the age of 63 following an accidental fall at his home.
The band's social media pages state how Peligro, whose real name was Darren Henley, died at his Los Angeles home on Friday.
'Police on the scene stated that he died from trauma to the head caused by an accidental fall. We ask that you respect the family's privacy during this difficult time. Thank you for your thoughts and words of comfort,' the post stated. 'Arrangements are pending will be announced in the coming days,' the group added.
Peligro was a fixture with the Kennedys until the band parted ways in 1986, but he returned when they got back together 15 years later in 2001.
The group had only just returned to the US following a European tour that saw them visit venues in Poland, Germany and France.
He was their second drummer taking over from Ted (Bruce Slesinger), who left in 1981 to become an architect.
Peligro has appeared with the group as recently as 2019 and features on 12 of the band's albums.
When the band split, Peligro played for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, before he succumbed to drug and alcohol issues two years later which led to him being replaced.
Despite his demons, Peligro remained a friend of the band and helped him get sober.

Always loved that photo. I had it as background on my work computer for a while. Very few of the young’uns got it.
The actual shooting is about the first thing I remember ever seeing on TV, when my parents rented a TV for a few days after the JFK assassination.
No, William Shatner’s wife was though.
Keith Richards sends his condolences.
Yes, that is Jello.
What song do you like best?
One of the all time Great Bands.
Many, many long weekends percolate out of my brain with their music playing.
If you don’t know who they are, you haven’t been paying attention.
Keith Richards sends his condolences.
You’ve maybe heard of the Living Dead, well Keith is the Dead Living.
I gotta ask, did you create this? I stole a copy from someone here on FR years ago. It’s my favorite meme of all time!
LOL, no way I created that. It was one of the first great Photoshops on the Internet, and still one of the greatest of all time.
I think Christopher Plummer died because of complications from a fall, but if I’m mistaken, please feel free to correct me.
Ivanka Trump died recently after a spill on the stairs in her NYC home, too.
Ivana Trump, Ivanka’s mother, died this summer after falling at home.
I dunno about this guy, but the DKs HATED my band. (J3llo was a Colorado resident for some time, living in Boulder, which figures.) We never played a gig with them but we did sound for them twice and the first time they tried to sneak out with all the money from the gig - unsuccessfully. This led to a grudge that lasted over years. J3llo always claimed that we threatened him with a gun. (Not true, although it was a temptation.)
The second time they deliberately broke a part of the sound system and then we didn’t get paid for the gig until almost a year later.
They are socialist sh1theels. I never liked their musick, either.
No offense, I hope. You can play their records all you like, and have a great time. But if you ever visit, we’ll have to listen to something else. (Do you like Slayer, by any chance?)
Where’d you play with them?
That’s good!
DK were too socialist and preachy for my liking, especially after living within spitting distance of the USSR.
I never, not even once, heard of them. Legendary indeed.
I’m trying to see the downside to Dead Kennedies.
“...trauma to the head caused by an accidental fall...”
Brain bleed. Nothing mysterious about that.
