Old school. Drift the sight left or right. Would be a lot easier if it was adjustable. But the gun wouldn’t have been $349.99 if it had that feature. No sign of a lock screw from the bottom. I think they legitimately did it close to spec for the 1911A1. I will pull the slide and double check, but I don’t think they could even do that and retain all of the 1911 design.
Actually, 2 inches at 22 yards isn’t bad really. Trigger is crisp but higher weight than I’m used to. It has a good break.
I’ll give that other hand trick a try. Could be the heavier trigger has me pulling a little though I did a lot of making sure that I’m not doing it. Doesn’t mean I’m not though.
Interestingly, when I pulled out my Colt Government, it was delightful. I worked the trigger on that one with some polishing, though it was good out of the box anyway. I have the proper stones and jigs for doing the sear, but in this case, I just polished with a fine ceramic stone, to remove any uneven surfaces, taking care to not change any angles.
I have to mention that I do enjoy tinkering with things of this nature.
I also should mention that I incorrectly reassembled the trigger mechanism on an AR-15 many years ago, which resulted in it firing 1 shot, and then refusing to fire again. A learning experience - LOL.
Anyway, I’ll be toying with this one for a while. It seems to be of very high quality, given the price, just lacking the high-end finish and features. If it works with standard 1911 parts, it could easily be turned into a really nice shooter.
I think they are being bribed by Ukraine officials - if they don’t pay up - Zelinsky may “squeal”.....
