Has Anyone Followed the Inspector Morse Series? Inspector Morse, Lewis, and Endeavour? Thoughts?
I have been overwhelmed with the series. to the point that I have purchased the DVDS. I have never felt television to fit. this fits.
your take?
We’ve been stuck on Death in Paradise for almost 2 months.
That's an excellent series. I just read that there is going to be a spin-off series called "Beyond Paradise" starring Kris Marshall who played DI Humphrey Goodman for a couple of series.
series = seasons
Have not watched Inspector Morse, but recently watched all the available “seasons” of Endeavor and enjoyed them immensely. The time frame - late 60’s - coincides with my high school years, so I have clear memories of what life here (California) was like during that time period. As portrayed in the series, the UK/Oxford seemed more like the 50’s, even though the episodes have occasional glimpses of the news events and cultural changes that were impacting both of our cultures.
So crazy to think how hard police work was without computers, internet, cell phones. Just old fashioned leg work, and Morse’s brilliance of course. They are filming an 8th season now - can’t wait. And I really like Shaun Evans, except for the season with that dreadful mustache.
I pretty much exclusively watch Britbox,Acorn and some PBS.
Better actors, more regular-looking, interesting plots etc.
Unfortunately, many of the shows as of 2021 and now 2022 episodes are beginning to openly embrace the DEI thought as well.
The Dr Blake (Australian) series is good too. I’ve watched nearly every highly rated series on those channels.
Love the original Miss Fischer set in the 20’s. Movie was cute too
Try “New Tricks” for a change, bunch of old retreads helping out a disgraced Chief Inspecter.
A great show, with great research, writing and blending into the current days.
I’m watching Shetland this very minute. I started it iver a few days ago to get back in the swing for the new series 7 on Britbox. It was written by the same author that wrote Vera. That’s another show I love.
I’ve been interested in doing so. Isn’t Endeavour like the third season? What’s first, second, third?
Lol. Yes, that be BBC
BTTT
Captured much of it as downloads when it first ran on BBC. Good stuff. Lewis eventually has a series all his own.
Yes, I’ve enjoyed Morse, Endeavor, and Lewis and I’d put them in that order best to good.
I’m currently enjoying both Van Der Valk and Silent Witness.
I thought Vienna Blood was particularly good in plot, character development, and especially evoking the ambiance of pre-WW I Vienna.
I just wish the English could clearly speak English.
It has two spin-offs that make o e seamless megashow
Endeavour is showing a bit how morse turned into morse.
Just made that observation watching Season 6. He falls into alcoholism in my opinion. Bad luck with women, and as you mentioned his work interactions with Co-workers. Great series’s.
Never heard of it. Thank you
