Only placental beings require a navel, which is the former connection to the umbilical cord. Reptiles are definitely not placental.

Thank goodness they cleared this up. I can die happy now knowing this discovery. It ranks up there with those deep existential problems I've pondered since . . well forever along with just how far would I go for a Klondike bar.
