I was house sitting for a song writer in Nashville one summer, back in 1985.

I came home one day and there was a recording on the phone. It was Hank Williams, Jr. He said “I’m drunk down here at Scooters bar again, can you come get me?”

I didn’t go. I didn’t know where Scooters bar was. I had visions of a drunk Hank Williams, Jr throwing up in my car. And Hank wouldn’t have had a clue who I was if I did show up.

At one concert Hank was apparently drunk;
slurring words, forgetting lyrics, yelling at crowd.Show ended early. Embarrassing
for tour sponsor, Budweiser.
His beard partly to cover up scars from
bad accident.
