Remember that catchy expression from the Bush years, “No Blood For Oil!”, thinly veiled virtue signaling expressing moral outrage over the false notion that the evil George W. Bush and his cronies would gladly spill the blood of innocents in their greedy quest for the power and wealth of oil? Events in Ukraine have made it all too clear that Biden and the merry band of green new fascists that control him are just fine with blood and death if it destroys the energy sector and threatens capitalism…

The issue is never the issue, the issue is always the revolution.
‘the false notion that the evil George W. Bush and his cronies would gladly spill the blood of innocents in their greedy quest for the power and wealth of oil?’
What’s false about it?
There was another group of virtue signaling morons. “We who want peace.” Where are they now?
Leftard up the road from me who sellss “organic vegetables” from a roadside stand had a sign out during the entire Trump term saying “war is not the answer.” When President Trump was cheated out of the 2020 election, he put up a hand made sign “you’re fired!” Soon after he had a BLM sign up. No sign about endless wars anymore...hmmm.
What’s false is that we never got a drop of oil from the Iraq war. We were down a few trillion dollars instead and got nothing in return.
If Kuwait and Iraq’s only export was bananas, do you think the U.S would have spent trilions, caused hundreds of thousands of deaths on 2 wars. Laughable. the slogan might have been used by lefties. But that doesn’t negate the fact it was true
everything…
You’re talking about two separate wars, although the second was directly related to the first, like WWI and II. The second Iraq war was about it violating the conditions of its surrender, while the first was likely about oil supplies, but also a mad dictator just wanting to conquer more territory. We have the luxury of sitting here in the future judging past events through the lens of not having to worry about how they turn out, because no we know. When you’re uncertain, things are different.
Just it’s Ukrainian blood this time
