A conservative middle aged professor (Edward G. Robinson) engages in a relationship with a femme fatale (Joan Bennettt), and he's plunged into a nightmarish world of blackmail and murder.

Hope you enjoy “The Woman in the Window”.
Best advice ever given to a young white boy by an older black man working together in a warehouse: “Just remember. There are two things that will kill a man. Bad women and bad whiskey.”
Sounded very familiar for a 1965 movie.
Unusually for a film noir, it has a comic ending, supposedly concocted by Lang at the spur of the moment.

Edward G Robinson is one of the all-time most extraordinary actors. Far from your typical Hollywood good looks but he brought unique life to any role.

A great movie, but instead of reaching what seems to be a natural conclusion, there is a twist.
Robinson’s last movie was Soylent Green. He made it when he knew he was dying. Like the consummate professional he was he rushed to get all his scenes in before he died. Watching the movie there is no evidence he was mortally ill.
Well, that was better than I thought it was going to be. Dan Duryea is good as a slimy character! Loved the twist at the end. :)
