ESPN host Stephen A. Smith says he rang in the New Year hospitalized with COVID - and that doctors told him he would died if he hadn't been vaccinated.
He shared details about his serious bout with the virus Monday after returning to the air on the network's First Take, saying: 'It almost took me out.'
The 54-year-old began the episode by revealing he feared he might die after he was hospitalized with a 103-degree fever and double pneumonia on January 1.
'I didn't know if I was going to make it,' Smith said. 'They told me, had I not been vaccinated, I wouldn't be here. That's how bad I was.'
The hit show is filmed in Bristol, Connecticut, and Smith lives in New Jersey. Both states were hammered around the time of his diagnosis by a surge in cases driven by the highly-contagious Omicron-variant.

I would say that 50% of staff where I work is unvaxed, for the last 2 weeks EVERY SINGLE vaxed person has been out sick AND the unvaxed are the ones keeping the business running GEEZE!!

What, does he have a magical crystal ball that showed him how he would have done without a vaccine?
Did he have his Vitamin D levels checked?

Maybe. How would he know what would have happened.
I am happy for him that he did not perish but I see no evidence that vaccinations make it less likely. I want a large control group double blind stidy run by a reputable firm that has no political or financial interest in the outcome. Then I will listen.

Dumb. All he knows for certain is that he is alive.
But according to the statistics and the doctors and research people who oppose the clot shot, the shots cause an upset in the immune system and make those who had the clot shot more susceptible to infection.
In other words, he may not have been as sick had he not had the jab.
But the doctor in the hospital told him.....blah blah.
Everyone who has studied seriously the part the CDC, the hospitals, the government and the doctors relationship with those parties knows that doctor’s jobs are in peril if they say one word against the process.
So this story is total BS.
if I remember correctly, there is some issue with blacks and vitamin D in terms of genetics.
possibly due to exposure to sun back in africa as humans evolved.
I have a genetic problem with vitamin D and also have a genetic problem that evolved due to malaria but I am lilly white.
they found some kind of protection against COVID in a gene related to Neanderthals...but this is a faily new discovery

Or, the vax made him more seriously ill. Unless he’s a soothsayer, there’s no way he could know.
Ivermectin would have cured him safely.

He didn’t mention it (and won’t under any circumstances), but his miraculous retreat from death was probably caused by Ivermectin treatment.
He misunderstood - without the vax, he would have been fine and healthy. With it, he ended up deathly ill in hospital.
