A frosty San Miguel on a hot summer day in Olongapo was one of the best beers I ever tasted. The one with the lump in it, though, was the worst.
I never really knew what formaldehyde tasted like before I hit the PIs and tried San Miguel.
Our bar was called “The Hole in the Wall” - about 3 blocks from the main gate. It was fun at anytime but especially about 6 am when you see all the girls and boys who’d been up all night partying. First stop after knockoff - then a Jeepney ride to my apartment in Subic City where the party really started. I can’t believe we did that every single day :)
