Four millennia ago--long before today's technology was available--Job quoted God's claim that the Pleiades' stars don't merely appear gravitationally bound but actually are: “Can you bind the chains of the Pleiades?" Job 38:31

Astronomers finally were able to confirm that claim in the 20th Century.

Associated with it was another claim, that the stars in Orion's cord also are bound. And that claim also was confirmed.
