Rittenhouse juror dismissed after joke about Blake shooting
Associated Press ^ | November 4, 2021

A juror in Kyle Rittenhouse’s murder trial was dismissed Thursday after a court security officer reported that the man told a joke about the police shooting of Jacob Blake, which set off protests in the Wisconsin city where Rittenhouse is accused of shooting three people.

Kenosha County Circuit Judge Bruce Schroeder said the security officer reported the remarks earlier this week. Prosecutor Thomas Binger said the remarks as shared showed racial bias. Blake, who is Black, was shot by a white Kenosha police officer and left partially paralyzed.

When Schroeder called the juror into the courtroom to discuss what he said, the juror said he didn’t want to repeat his comments. But Schroeder said it was “clear that the appearance of bias is present and it would seriously undermine the outcome of the case” and that the juror would be dismissed.

The juror then responded: “It wasn’t anything to do with the case. It wasn’t anything to do with Kyle.” …

BINGO. The Left want to eliminate as many law-and-order/pro-self-defense/anti-crime jurors as possible.

Good guess. Answer was "because they ran out of bullets".

Heck, even if you express strong opinions on most anything, you will be dismissed. Lawyers want pliable people with squishy beliefs.

"The judge asked the juror if he wanted to repeat the joke and he said no."

Excellent way of getting excused.

Once I was dismissed because I was asked if the crime (throwing a wine bottle through a window) was serious. I said, without seeking to be excused, that is the overall gamut of crime it wasn’t real serious.

Gosh, and all this time I thought the judge had a sense of humor!

The article said the county prosecutor “declined” to charge the officer, instead of stating the fact, that he was cleared of any wrongdoing, and is back to work.

“Depends on where he goes.”

He’ll be a hero if he comes here. East Tennessee.

Best one I saw was a guy that very loudly objected to being on jury because he couldn't be the reason someone was sent to prison to be subjected to ANAL RAPE.

Said it just that way ( ANAL RAPE ), and repeated loudly many times - until he was quickly dismissed and removed from the premises. Young college kid - had to give him kudos for really selling the part.

Same in SW Virginia. We are the “other side of the mountain” people (coined by a Democrat politicians who lost on Tuesday).

The speedy trial part is entertaining.

The Defense had a lot to say on when the trial started.

In voir dire, just tell them you believe in your right to jury nullification, that laws don't matter and you are guided by your moral compass...

...and make politically incorrect jokes.

The juror then responded: “It wasn’t anything to do with the case. It wasn’t anything to do with Kyle.”

Without the police shooting Blake there wouldn't be any rioting and no reason for Rittenhouse to be there. I'd say that relates to the case.

Hard to believe the guy would be stupid enough to tell a joke like that to an officer of the court...unless he really didn't want to be on the jury.

They will hound him until the day he dies, and even longer...

I like the "Quiet Man"'s take on this:

They will hound him until his dying day, I'd he should live that long.

Proper answer: Depends on the vintage.

I have been watching the trial on Court TV and they labelled Juror #7 a “racist” in their commentary.
Once that juror’s identity is revealed, I expect a lot of peaceful protestors will be at his house all night with bullhorns to nag at him.
