Ohio lawmakers are fast-tracking a bill that would allow employers and schools to mandate some COVID-19 vaccines but allow exemptions for medical conditions, religious beliefs and immunity from previous infection.
Of the many bills in Ohio's state legislature aiming to limit or stop COVID-19 mandates, particularly vaccines, this one has the highest chances of success.
Leaders in the Republican-controlled Ohio House unveiled their proposal Tuesday. House Bill 435 is sponsored by Rep. Bill Seitz, R-Green Township, and Rep. Rick Carfagna, R-Genoa Township.
"What we're proposing today will be a very sensible balance between honoring one's personal medical freedom, while at the same time ensuring that employers and organizations have the ability to provide for public health," Carfagna said in an interview.
What's in the bill
The 34-page legislation differs from other vaccine bills by allowing vaccines approved by the federal Food and Drug Administration and expanding and laying out exemptions to vaccine mandates.
First, it only prohibits mandates for vaccines that haven't had full FDA approval, a concession to those favoring mandates. That means the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine can be required but not vaccines from Moderna and Johnson & Johnson.

I have to wrap my head around whether this whole endeavor is a pretense that wholly ignores individual liberty.
Interesting and somewhat encouraging, but why do we even need an exemption, or some kind of government approval, to be exempted from a vaccine?
There shouldn’t be a mandate in the first place. Let’s start there.

The fact that there is any question that natural immunity is sufficient tells you the vaccine is not about protecting you from the disease.

The Pfizer BioNTech was granted expanded and extended Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) to include 15+ year olds.
Comirnaty was the ONLY FDA fully approved Covid-19 vaccine label. and it is NOT YET available for distribution in the U.S., period!
