CPD is a more broad term. COPD is an obstructive lung disease caused by smoking. There are restrictive lung diseases which would also fall under CPD, such as asbestosis, silicosis or lung cancer.
COPD isn’t only caused by smoking, though that is the primary cause. Workplace and other pollutants can also lead to it.
