The move followed more than 72 hours of coordinated rescue efforts and nearly three dozen search and rescue flights to look for the wreckage, the Navy’s Pacific fleet said in a Saturday statement.
The names of the sailors were being withheld until their next of kin have been notified.
Also injured on Tuesday were five other sailors who were on board the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier where the MH-60S helicopter was operating on the deck before the crash.
An investigation into what caused the crash about 70 miles (112 kilometers) off San Diego is ongoing, but the fact that sailors aboard the carrier were injured raised questions about whether the helicopter or parts of it hit the Lincoln.

Surprised the Navy even bothered to look for any survivors at all. Isn’t the China-Joe-Ho Biteme regimes motto - leave lots of people behind because we just don’t care.
The incident is said to have occurred 60 or so miles off the coast. I fear the cabin of the helicopter sank in very deep water.
seems the helo crashed on the Lincoln’s flight deck

“I was the guy in the aluminium fire protection suit”
I did that for a very short time in the Navy. My training was...absolutely nothing. I could not keep my hood in place, it kept sliding everywhere. Eventually I figured out why; the hood had no framing in it. It was just gone. The one drill I performed my lens got completely fogged up and I couldn’t even see where I was going. Good times.

“A single-wheel touchdown may be practical but care should be taken to avoid cyclic control movements
which could induce ground resonance or dynamic rollover conditions. “

employment procedures and techniques that may be used to accomplish the various missions of the HH-

If the recall had already taken place and there was a Republican governor today, he would be getting the blame for this.
