The GETTR account creation process requires an email address to which a verification code is sent. I tried both my yahoo and gmail email accounts and never received the code. Had to create a new ProtonMail account, after which the code was received almost immediately.

I tried once. Received the code via email immediately, created a profile, uploaded profile and background pics and made a trial post.
I do not know if using the free email services has anything to do with it. I have my own domain and email service at Network Solutions. No problem at all.
It’ll never be a thing until every conservative leaves facebook and twitter.
It’s an echo chamber. You’ll log in and it’ll be exciting for about a day. Next day ? Same thing.
If we all left Facebook - and I mean we all - it would be dead within a month. Seriously. It would be nothing but leftists crying into the wind.
And because a “right wing only” sort of platform will do the same to us, only with right-winged goodness.
There is no, and will be no, right-wing only social media network. For that same reason I need to ask everyone out there to simply leave Facebook and Twitter.
I did, about 6 years ago. I haven’t heard from a SINGLE SOUL who was on my “friend list”. They don’t reach out at all. They don’t return calls. I’m the only - and i mean ONLY - one to actually call people and see how they are doing.
Not a single soul in 6 years has reached out to me. Even best friends. I’m totally alone with the exception of my wife and daughter. And this quite frankly makes me feel good. The rest was an illusion.
IF you drop facebook you will never hear from your family or friends again. And if you do, you hold onto to those people because they were the only thing that was real in the first place.

I joined it almost immediately after reading the post figuring this was what Trump had been setting up. I got an account and friended everyone that I saw up. I went to the first post that I was interested in, about a mom who got killed and couldn’t learn anything about the story, but sure saw A LOT of Leftist pricks making fun of it.
Proton is fine. Just trash yahoo and gmail.

All the big techs have to do is interfere with email in the verify step.
I’ve had a few verify emails sent from other sites that never get delivered thanks to big tech silently flagging them as spam. Silently means you don’t know why the email can’t complete.
They do this all for your own personal security you know !!

I just read about this today via Newsmax. I tried creating an account using my HOTMAIL e-mail account, went through all the steps required to start the account, and was told to look for an email with the verification code. No code arrived and I got an error message. I tried redoing everything later on, creating the account again, and it said that I tried too many times today to create the account. What??? Why can’t anyone on our side get it right from the get go whenever they start a new social media platform?

The Webmasters themselves did not announce the site is NOW LIVE. The Webmasters said we will not go LIVE until the afternoon of Sunday, July 4th.
People attempting to Login prior to that official date based on news reports of the site does not reflect upon the Webmasters whatsoever. It simply reflects the uninformed excitement of certain people.

Can I ask, how do you like protonmail so far? I know others have mentioned it in passing over the years in positive light...is it still good?
I had the same problem. Never got an email to my Gmail or Hotmail account but I did get one to my proton mail account. The only problem is they sent me a verification code and within seconds it is expired. I tried it 10 times and each time the code was expired and it couldn’t of been expired. So I gave up.
